Postcards Account Management Issues
Running into issues with accessing projects, editing templates as a team, or managing your subscription in Postcards? Whether you're on a free plan or managing a full team of collaborators, account-related problems can slow you down. This guide breaks down common account and collaboration issues and the easy steps you can take to fix them, so you can stay focused on creating great emails.
Common Account Management Problems
Here are some hiccups users may run into:
- Can’t Access Projects: Projects seem to disappear, team members can’t see them, or you’ve hit your free plan’s 10-template limit.
- Editing Restrictions: Team members can’t edit content or changes don’t save when working together.
- Project Transfer Confusion: Trouble moving projects between accounts, templates lost after an upgrade, or accidental duplicates during editing.
- Subscription & Billing Issues: Plan isn’t syncing properly, you’ve been double-charged, or you can’t export despite being upgraded.
- Sharing Problems: Free plans restrict preview sharing, or team changes cause exported content to break.
- Team Setup Trouble: Struggling to switch teams or update account ownership.
Why These Happen
These problems usually come from:
- Team roles are being incorrectly assigned (e.g., Viewer instead of Editor)
- Free plan limitations (like the 10-template limit or limited export quota)
- Edits made at the same time by multiple team members
- Billing or subscription is not syncing after an upgrade
- New accounts accidentally created during plan changes
- Then someone invited to a team, it could to see their own email templates projects, to see them again it should be removed from the teammates.
Project Access & Roles
Team Members Can’t See or Edit Projects?
- Go to your Teams page and assign the correct role:
- Editor = can view, edit, and create
- Viewer = view-only
- Use the “Invite” feature here: Postcards Teams Invite
Joined a Team and Lost Access to Your Own Projects?
- Ask the team owner to remove you from the team.
- Or, contact Postcards support to disconnect your account and recover your projects.
On a Free Plan and Can’t Add New Templates?
- Free plans are limited to 10 templates (including trashed ones).
- Go to your Dashboard > Removed and permanently delete unused templates to free up space.
Moving or Sharing Projects
Want to Transfer a Project?
- Open the project, go to “Preview & Share”, and generate a public link to share it with another account or team.
Lost Templates After Upgrading?
- Reach out to Postcards support with your account email, and we’ll help restore them. Then someone invited to a team, it could to see their own email templates projects, to see them again it should be removed from the teammates.
Need to Share with Clients or Teams?
- You’ll need to be on a Plus or Pro plan to unlock public sharing links.
Team Editing and Collaboration
Trouble Editing as a Team?
- Use Real-Time Collaboration: Colored cursors show who is editing what. Avoid working on the same block at the same time.
- Seeing unwanted changes across multiple templates? Use “Detach in Place” on custom modules to prevent global edits from affecting other projects.
Can I Collaborate on the Free Plan?
- Yes, to a limited extent! You can still invite others by email through the “Teams” feature and collaborate on shared projects.
Billing & Subscription Fixes
Export Not Working Even After Upgrading?
- Check your plan’s export limits (e.g., 20 per month for some plans).
- If you’ve hit the limit or something looks off, contact support to reset your export counter or investigate.
Double-Charged or Payment Failed?
- Verify your payment method (PayPal or Card) and update it if needed.
- Reach out to support with payment details, and we’ll sort it out.
Upgraded, But Features Aren’t Showing?
- Sometimes, the subscription doesn't sync right away. Contact support to merge or sync your accounts, especially if a new one was created during the upgrade.

Can’t Export?
- Check your current plan’s export quota in the dashboard.
- If you’ve upgraded and still can’t export, contact support to refresh your plan access.
Test Before You Send:
- Use “Exporting Templates” and “Email Preview” to send test emails and confirm that the exported project works on platforms like Gmail and Outlook.
Managing Your Account Info
